This is the King we follow
This is the King we follow:
The One who tends hearts,
rather than conquering lands.
The One who offers Life,
rather than demanding allegiance.
Not one who sits above history,
but the One who walks beside us,
quietly reigning
in ways the world still struggles to name.
He rules by peace,
bringing stillness,
and resilience.
He reigns through humility,
stooping low enough
to lift the weary.
He crowns with love,
placing worth on every head
we have forgotten to honor.
He gathers the broken,
not as problems to solve,
but as treasured ones
held close in a community of grace.
He restores what we lost,
what we hid,
what we believed was beyond repair.
He builds a kingdom
with no force,
with no tools of domination,
only healing that rises
and belonging that widens.
His kingdom is a kin-dom,
where mercy and hope take root,
where tenderness is strength,
where justice and righteousness flow.
May we notice his reign
even when it looks small.
May we trust his peace
even when the world aches.
And may this Reign of Christ Sunday
be a reminder that the kin-dom
is not a distant dream,
but an invitation
for how we live in this world,
with these people,
in this moment.
Now.
