Do This In Remembrance Of Me

When Jesus took the bread,

blessed it,

broke it,

and gave it,

what if he wasn’t just teaching a ritual?

What if Jesus was actually showing us a new way to live?

Gather together.

Receive what’s given.

Bless what’s broken.

Share what’s present.

Trust that the table can stretch wide enough for every hunger to be met.

Trust that grace will meet us in our brokenness.

Trust that love can feed far more than fear ever could.

What if “do this in remembrance of me” was never meant to stop at the table?

What if it isn’t only about church on Sundays?

What if it was meant to spill out into the streets and into every place where hunger lives?

What if it isn’t only about bread?

But also about soothing the ache for belonging and the longing for justice….

What if it’s also about satisfying the deep craving we all have to be seen, and known, and loved?

Do this:

Gather with friends and enemies…

Take what you’ve been given…

Give thanks for it…

Divide it up…

Pass it around….

Because this is how God’s kin-dom comes:

not through control or scarcity,

but through open hands.

In God’s economy,

grace multiplies

in the giving.
