The To-Be List

Before I look at the to-do list today,

Lord, let me look at the to-be list.

Let me breathe deeply,

until your Breath fills my being with your Being.

Let me rest in you.

Let me claim the name you’ve already given:

Beloved.

Let me be loved.

Let that be the only thing on my to-be list today.

And from that place of being loved,

let me go out and be love

in and for your world.

Let me love wide…

wide enough to include the stranger,

wide enough to include the weary,

wide enough to include even me.
